Open source is why it is easy to throw your own technology away

When everything you build is open, there is no moat you have to keep using and no part of the stack to protect from replacement; you can be the first to replace what you wrote when something better appears. The habit is to ask of every component whether it still earns its place, and open source removes the one bad reason to say yes: that you built it.

Decided by. Nobody yet: a candidate for Dinis to read, comment on and decide (keep, rewrite, merge, cut, article first, later, not doing it).
