Every release of this site, narrated: a reader should understand the change without opening the diff. Every push to dev is a release, tagged vX.Y.Z by CI, which refuses a release whose version.txt disagrees with the commit subject.

SiteDateWhat changed, and why
v0.2.12026-10-18A journalist and its articles. The site gets its own articles section (/articles/, each article with a markdown twin to hand to an agent), written by a new role, the journalist (team/journalist/), in the newsroom's voice and shape, because an article is how Dinis briefs the roles that finish the book: the idea, the evidence and the task researched and counted on one page, ending with a brief a role can execute. Five articles: why briefs are written as articles, and the roles' names (reviewer, editor, publisher, journalist); releasing v1.0.0 again end to end, twice, first with the 2018 print file untouched and a new cover to prove the publishing half (cover, metadata, stamped files, a manifest, Leanpub, the paperback, a record of publications), then the same book built here with the graphs bookkit and checked against the 2018 file to prove the build half; one board for the book, with content issues pinned to a version and a quoted sentence, a Kanban page generated from the issue files, and the 43 GitHub issues of the 2018 repository (35 open) brought in; one inventory of everything unfinished (89 outlines, 23 draft-folder files, 6 unpublished chapters, the open issues, the handwritten notes); and the read, comment, decide loop on the editor's desk, with a short list of verbs and a decision file per item. A brief pointing at each article in the publisher's and the editor's briefs folders. No change to v1/ or to the book's version.
v0.2.02026-10-18The book as published, split from the drafts: the 2018 Hugo layouts put only chapters marked status: content in the Leanpub book and the print PDF, so the table of contents now shows those 28 chapters first, in the print edition's order with its page numbers (from the print-ready PDF Dinis supplied, now in the repository as v1/generation-z-print-ready.pdf, 139 pages), the GitHub-issues front-matter page included; the 6 drafts and 89 outlines follow, kept apart and marked. v1.0.0's frozen text is re-frozen as the published book (v0.1.0 had frozen the whole repository, drafts included); the drafts are kept beside it as v1/book/drafts.md and drafts.html, not part of any version. New: read/, the reader and the editor's desk: the book with its graph beside it (part, neighbours, chapters that share terms, the newsroom articles that answer it, the paragraphs as bars), chapter states (unread, reading, read, to review, continue, signed off), comments on paragraphs, filters and folds to focus, a reading meter after the newsroom's rules (a penny per 250 words read, £5 of credit, below zero allowed, nothing sent), and the export of the review as markdown for the vault's reviews/ folder or JSON; all kept in the browser. New: contributors/, who contributed to the first edition from the 2018 repository's git history and its GitHub issues and pull requests (20 people besides the author, 63 commits by others, 21 of 24 pull requests merged, 43 issues, 28 comments), with the data captured under admin/content/github/. The home page carries the split and the two new sections.
v0.1.12026-10-18The home page reviewed against the book's own assets and rebuilt around them: the 2018 cover in the hero with its eight lines (the newsroom article counted seven; Look under the hood was missed), and the first edition's public record on the page, the paperback on Amazon (139 pages, 30 September 2018, ISBN-10 1724194607, the two reader quotes) and the Leanpub edition (free to read online, 60% complete, 465 readers, 30,695 words), with the source on GitHub; the book card now dominates and the machinery sits smaller. The cover and the same references on the book's table of contents, the versions page and llms.txt. v1.0.0's date corrected to the paperback's publication, 30 September 2018; 8 October 2018 stays as the last change to the text.
v0.1.02026-10-18The first release, built from the newsroom's six gen-z-book articles and the two build briefs of 18 October 2026. v1.0.0 of the book (the 2018 first edition) imported verbatim from DinisCruz/Book_Generation_Z_Developer and shown chapter by chapter and on one page, outlines included; the versions page, reusing the newsroom's page_versions.py, with v1.0.0 frozen as markdown; the map, one row per 2018 file with the newsroom articles that answer it; the briefs captured; three roles (reviewer, editor, publisher) with their first issues and the editor's first interview script; the public working vault created and pushed with the working copy of v1, its read key published on the vault page; a private vault for the OpenRouter key, empty; the gate (validate.js) and the deploy pipeline, the same as the sibling sites.
