# The part openers need an image model, and a decision

**What.** The proposal `part-openers-illustrated` is the plan's one image-model proposal: an illustrated opener per part, from a brief generated from the part's intro, the cast and the palette. The newsroom's *The infographic bake-off* tested every OpenRouter image model and recommends Nano Banana 2.1 for concept slides.

**Blocked on.** Dinis: whether the book carries any image-model art (the storyboards chose none), and the OpenRouter key, which is in the private vault and is his.

**Done when.** Dinis has decided; if yes, ten briefs are written into the plan and the images, each with its brief beside it, are on the site for review.
